nofood. is a collection of dishes created and used in situations of extreme food shortages.
Each one of the crises presented here was caused artificially, each is not a result of a natural catastrophe but the consequence of the political and economic actions.
Based on the assumption that the condition of the world is faithfully reflected in an empty plate, the nofood project traces constructs such as war, corruption, collectivization or genocide.
The proposal of the nofood. starvation cookbook is an invitation to sympathize with what is the daily menu of millions of people. These dishes are not characterized by the best taste or nutritional values. Their taste is the taste of hunger, but also of the incredible will to survive, which can be called the love of life.
The recipes contained here reveal what the World Cuisine really looks like.
Nofood, or the Starvation Cookbook, is a research and artistic project created and implemented by Karolina Brzuzan.
